Stunning animations for senior leaders on cognitive bias and risk
Project Objectives

BP wanted to help senior leaders understand the effects of unconscious biases and human factors on their decision making, based on the work of Daniel Kahnemann, John Coates and other leading researchers.
Graphite used a mixture of 2D and 3D animation to tell engaging stories and visually depict complex psychological behaviours in a digestible way, giving useful suggestions for responding to each.

Stunning 3D and beautiful illustration
All six videos feature fluid animation, compelling narrative and an innovative mix of 2D and 3D drawing style. This preview shows some of our favourite moments.
Each video takes you on a tour of the surprising side of human behaviour, including how subtle biases can influence our estimates, communication with others and how we react to the influence of others. While these aren’t always easy concepts to visualise, the videos bring them to life clearly and practically.

Focus on behavioural change
While the subjects of the videos are inherently interesting, a major part of the design brief was helping leaders understand the impact of these biases on their behaviour and how to recognise them in their everyday activity.
Their aim is to help great decision-makers become even better by exposing some of the influences that can easily slip under the radar. With a business operating at this kind of scale, operational and management decisions have a huge impact all across the business, so investing in this area has the potential to reap huge rewards.
